MEMBERSHIP IN LINEAGE AND HERITAGE SOCIETIES Note: membership in the lineage societies listed below has required genealogical proof of the links of ancestry between Llewellyn Toulmin and the propositi (proven ancestor qualifying one for membership) listed for each society. The earliest connection proven was prepared for the National Society of Saints and Sinners. Here the propositi was St. Gregory “The Illuminator,” Patron Saint of Armenia and the first saint or person to convert an entire country. St. Gregory lived from 256 to 326 AD, and is the earliest person for whom reputable genealogists have agreed that lineages can be proven, and thus he is the earliest provable Toulmin/Duggar ancestor – a 54th great-grandfather! Lew Toulmin is the first modern person to prove this connection. See www.nationalsocietyofsaintsandsinners.org for details.
